My name is Kacper Langiewicz, I am a 25-year-old professional water polo player with ambitions of one day making it to the Olympics.
I grew up in San Diego and my journey in the water began as early as I can remember. As a child I spent a lot of time swimming at the pool and at my local beaches. It wasn’t until high school that I started playing water polo, but I instantly fell in love with the sport. I played water polo for Mission Hills High School and North San Diego Stars.
I chose to continue my water polo career at UC San Diego because I loved the city and it was a competitive water polo program. At UC San Diego I spent a lot of time developing my skills but by the end of my college career I was able to prove my dominance as the starting center. In my final season we won the WWPA championships, made it to the NCAA semi-final, and finished ranked 5th in the nation.
In 2019 I began training with the USA national team and by the summer I had earned a spot on the University Team heading to Napoli to compete in the Universiade. In Napoli we beat many strong teams including; Russia, France, Croatia, and Hungary, but unfortunately, we fell to Italy in the final earning a Silver medal.
After the Universiade I continued my water polo journey with the goal of making a Senior National Team Roster. I began my professional career in Europe playing for Acquachiara in Napoli. During my first year the championship was cut short due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. In July 2020 I returned to Europe to join Kaposvár VK in Hungary.
Since the Universiade I have continued to compete for a spot on the USA national team. Since my first training with the National Team in 2019 I have been called up for multiple training sessions and friendly tournaments in the US, Italy, Croatia, and Serbia.
